Your choices
The first visit presents equally available options to customize, reject non-essential storage, or accept all optional categories. You can withdraw or change a choice at any time.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep analytics and advertising off while the signal is active. Necessary storage cannot be disabled through the preference dialog.
Necessary storage
Necessary storage supports authentication, account security, upload integrity, fraud and abuse prevention, service delivery, and remembering the cookie choice. Firebase Authentication, App Check, and the Astral application can use first-party browser storage for these purposes.
The first-party astral_cookie_consent cookie records only consent version 2026-07-18.1, category choices, decision time, and whether a supported browser privacy signal controlled the choice. It uses Secure, SameSite=Lax, Path=/, and a one-year maximum age. A localStorage mirror provides continuity when a browser restricts one storage mechanism.
Analytics
When Analytics is enabled, Astral can initialize Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate product usage and improve the service. It is not initialized before analytics consent. Turning the category off prevents new initialization on subsequent page loads.
Advertising
When Advertising is enabled, eligible public pages for Free users can initialize Google advertising technology only if Astral has also configured a Google-certified consent platform. Google and its advertising partners may then use cookies, local storage, device information, and interaction data to deliver, secure, and measure ads under their own notices.
Paid accounts and Astral's private account, request, dashboard, status, direct download, and transfer flows do not need advertising technology. Rejecting advertising does not prevent use of the core service.
Retention and changes
Astral keeps the consent record for up to one year, then asks again. A new consent-policy version also invalidates the old record. Rejecting a category removes known first-party-readable optional cookies where possible, but Astral cannot directly erase storage already held on another provider's domain.
Clearing astrls.com site data removes the local consent record and causes the banner to return. It does not delete an Astral account or server-stored files.
