Notifications are optional
The extension asks Chrome for notification permission only when you enable the feature. Received-file and expiry alerts can be controlled separately.
When alerts arrive
The extension performs a bounded account sync about every 15 minutes while Chrome is running. Notifications are therefore helpful reminders, not guaranteed real-time delivery.
Avoid repeated alerts
Local deduplication markers prevent the same known event from being announced on every sync. Clearing extension storage can reset those markers.
